Newly Elected Officials Training Expense Information
Newly elected county officials are eligible to attend training sessions and conferences put on by Kentucky’s local government associations at the expense of their respective county. Assuming that the county has budgeted for training costs, expenses such as registration fees, hotel rooms and mileage, may be paid for by the respective county prior to the individual taking office or may be reimbursed by the county after the newly elected official has taken office. These properly documented expenses are permissible as they serve a public purpose. KY. Const. §179. OAG 93-72.
